SAMD rerated Level 3.
SAMD are pleased to announce a BEE rerating to Level 3, with immediate effect, with a strategy in place to achieve a Level 2 over the next financial year. Here is a link to the certificate:

SAMD forms BEE trust and transfers 25% of equity to employee control.
Following the recent sale of equity from past shareholders, SAMD management were given the opportunity to restructure the group in such a way that the company employees participate in ownership of the company.
The restructure process is now complete and management are delighted to confirm that with immediate effect 25% of equity in the company has been transferred to a trust for the benefit of all employees.
We believe that such a structure, giving meaningful equity participation in the company is exactly the type of positive result achievable through proper application of the principles enshrined in current BEE legislation.

SAMD Restructure: Director's Appointment
Pursuant to the recent corporate restructure, SAMD are pleased to announce the immediate appointment to the board as an executive director, Candice Shellys. Candice is appointed as Service Director and will be responsible for all matters to do with service, including overseeing the growth of the service portfolio. Candice brings many years of experience and a very strong personal track record of success in service management. We wish her all the best in her new role.

SAMD appointed UPP Distributor by Franklin Fueling Systems.
SAMD are delighted to announce their appointment to supply UPP piping and containment systems. Franklin issued the following industry announcement:
"Franklin Fueling Systems would like to welcome Southern African Master Distributors (SAMD), as a fully authorised and specialised UPP brand Piping & Containment systems distributor for Southern Africa. With effect from 21st January 2013, SAMD will undertake the Southern African distribution of Franklin Fueling Systems Piping & Containment, featuring UPP semi-rigid pipework, Gemini secondary containment and electro-fusion containment systems.
The transition to this new distribution structure is a focused strategy on the part of Franklin Fueling Systems to align the core competencies of our existing distributor networks with the inherent requirements of specific product brands. The new distribution structure is intended to impart logistical efficiencies to the market, foster a competitive customer service environment, and increase points of supply and availability to all customers, including Major Oil’s and Installation Companies.
A key driver of the implementation of a specialised UPP Piping & Containment distributor is the unchanging need for a resilient supply channel, able to consistently offer genuine Franklin Fueling Systems products which underwrite the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) expectations associated with the UPP brand, and avoid compromise in component quality, or product substitutions.
SAMD is also able to offer continuing professional development training on UPP brand products to installers within Southern Africa..”

SAMD took over the Southern African interests of Dresser Wayne in 2004 and have since positioned the company to include pumps and dispensers, forecourt control, ATG, Pump Maintenance, Point of Sale and now Pipework and Fittings.

SAMD awarded Caltex Eastern Cape Marketer service contract.
SAMD are delighted to announce their selection to provide pump maintenance and support services to
Caltex Eastern Cape Marketer for a term of three years, commencing October 2011.
This award represents a further development in SAMD’s move into contractual service and maintenance,
building on expertise in pump and dispenser maintenance and forecourt automation systems.
Commenting on the award, SAMD Managing Director, Kevin Black said:

SAMD Announces the appointment of Gary Bont as Automation Specialist.

SAMD are delighted to announce the appointment of Gary Bont as Automation Specialist. Gary brings extensive automation experience to the team and will assist with the market development of Fusion Technology, Point of Sale, Fuel Management Systems and other opportunities. Gary has an extensive track record in all manner of automation from his former industry experience at Chevron.

Southern Africa Master Distributors (SAMD) announce the appointment of Kevin Black as Managing Director, with immediate effect. Kevin replaces Pat Munro who served previously as General Manager of Wayne (SA) Pty Ltd and then Managing Director of SAMD from 2004 to date. Pat remains with the company on the board serving as President. Other board changes are Chris Lee who is taking up the position of Sales and Marketing Director.
